  1. Arepas are a typical dish from the countries of Colombia and Venezuela, it is a traditional dish that dates back to pre-Hispanic times, the Native Americans of the place, ground the corn grains as if they were wheat, to create these types of dishes that were generally accompanied only by meat, after the arrival of the Europeans to the place they added ingredients such as cheese, ham and butter.

My coworker from Venezuela was telling me about these today. They look even better than he described

look I know it’s a typo but if you say “whit cheese” I’m gonna assume these particular arepas are from Philadelphia

  4. These arepitas look amazing! Wonder what kind of cheese they used?

  5. I’ve never had an arepa, but this picture tells me I need to go eat some as soon as possible

  6. those look fantastic. plumper than the ones i’ve had in colombia.

Damn now I need to get one from the local place here. Honey BBQ pulled pork, cheese, black beans, plantains all in an arepa with Chimichurri and hot sauce.

Checking recipes and it seems that the prerequisite flour is available here, any preferences for Goya or Pan as I’d love to try making these?

    Any tips appreciated.
